Even Piggies Need Love!

Did you know pigs are often given up at dog or cat shelters (which they are not equipped to handle) and often suffer the worst fates because of this? Pigs are extremely intelligent, living, breathing souls, that deserve the respect and dignity all animal deserve.

 

While Cold Noses is best known for its work with dog and cat rescues, we occasionally see very strong grant applications for farm animals and wildlife as well. Snouts of Sedona was a very strong contender during our medical care grant in 2023. Our grant allowed for the rescue to purchase medications and supplies to have on hand when anything from wounds to mange to worms arises!

With a $2500 grant from Cold Noses, they were able to care for 301 pigs! Because of their grant, they were able to be ready when a call for a neglect case of 168 emaciated, sick and many, pregnant, piggies. These pigs are now living out their lives (many with their piglets!) in safety.

 

Over the rest of the year, an additional 133 pigs were helped with the remaining funds.
